Community Growth Initiatives

The rural population is the backbone of the nation, their hard work enables food security and fuels industrial growth in the remotest areas. As we progress, it’s important we empower our rural communities, ensuring their sustainable and inclusive growth.

Here are a few TCSRD initiatives in the interest of rural communities:

Health Programme

Through innovative interventions, the TCSRD Health Programme has achieved significant milestones in its endeavours.

Mobile Health Services
  • A basic Outpatient Department (OPD) mobile van delivering essential medical care and counselling directly to the community people without the hassle of them travelling.
  • Complete counselling and screening of anaemic adolescent girls (aged 11-18 yrs), subsequently administering preventative, diagnostic, and curative treatments to address this health concern.
  • Mobile Health Clinics are deployed to ensure accessible healthcare at the village level.
Project Vruddhi

In collaboration with Niramay Charitable Trust, we launched this programme on 18th November 2023.

  • Address malnutrition and anaemia among pregnant women and adolescent girls.
  • Improve primary healthcare in the Okhamandal taluka, Dwarka district of Gujarat.
Combatting ‘Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM)’
  • 14-day facility-based treatment at Child Malnutrition Treatment Centres (CMTC) in Dwarka or Nutritional Rehabilitation Centres (NRC) in Jam-Khambalia for children aged 6-59 months.
  • Followed by six weeks of care at a community-based centre.
Capacity Building of Healthcare Personnel

To ensure long-term impact, the initiative offers proper training for frontline health workers, including:

  • Female Health Workers (FHW)
  • Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA)
  • Anganwadi Workers
  • Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) medical officers

Project Sarthi

The “Sarthi” project helps community members  apply for government schemes that benefit people, such as PwD Certification / Bus Concession Pass / Rail Concession Pass / Aadhaar Card Application, etc.

A Need Assessment Survey for Affirmative Action was conducted in the Okhamandal block to identify members of the SC/ST communities and persons with disabilities (PwD).

Training for selection in armed forces

The Training programme offered by TCSRD serves as a strategic initiative aimed at motivating youth to serve their country while also offering them a stable and respected career path in the Indian Armed Forces. We provide critical support to ‘Manek Academy’, a coaching class dedicated to training and guide young individuals from the Okhamandal block and its three neighbouring villages.

Key Highlights:

  • Strategic initiative aimed to contribute to national security
  • Special skills and knowledge training preparing them for defence services
  • Fosters patriotism while  providing a prestigious opportunity to the rural youth
