Skill Development Programme

The rural population relies on agriculture for employment. However, regions with low rainfall and groundwater shortages have a limited demand for labour in agricultural activities.

To counter this, TCSRD imparts employable skills to rural youth through various skill development initiatives. The goal is to enable them to create local employment opportunities or establish their own ventures. TCSRD conducts assessments of local needs and opportunities to identify skills in demand, subsequently planning and executing targeted skill development programmes.

At our Mithapur location, the skill development programme is implemented through the following projects:

  • Technical Training Institute
  • NABSKILLS Supported by NABARD
  • Tata Strive

Technical Training

In 2019, TCSRD inaugurated the Technical Training Institute (TTI) to enrich the skills and capabilities of aspiring individuals in six diverse domains:

  • Welder Technician
  • Fitter Technician
  • Domestic Electrician
  • Fashion & Technology
  • Beauty & Wellness
  • Computer Technology

The institute’s core mission revolves around producing high-quality professionals to serve various sectors of the industry. To achieve this, the programme goes beyond technical training, encompassing a comprehensive curriculum designed to empower students for success.

The six-month modules at TTI include not only technical expertise but also crucial training components such as:

  • Motivational Training
  • 5S Training (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke)
  • Fire and Safety Awareness
  • Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP)
