Dr. Gyanendra Shukla has completed his MBA in General Management from S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research; Ph.D. in Botany (Researched on quantitative genetics) from Kanpur University; bachelor’s degree in agriculture and animal husbandry & master’s in Agronomy from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology.
Dr. Gyanendra Shukla is a senior Agri professional with more than 35 years of leadership experience in Crop Protection & Seed Sector in India, Asia-pacific & Africa region. He has managed various senior functional & general management roles in Commercial, Sales, Corporate Affairs, Technology development & Regulatory Affairs function.
Dr. Shukla was appointed on the Board of the Company as Managing Director & CEO on April 1, 2024.
Dr. Shukla is also a Director on the board of Mcarthur Stuart Private Limited, Croplife India and Federation of Seed Industry of India.
Professor, Jamshedji Tata Centre for Disaster Management
Janki Andharia is a Senior Professor at the School of Disaster Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and has over 40 years of experience in the field of community organization and social development. Her areas of work focus on gender issues, environmental concerns, democratic governance, and addressing diverse forms of marginalization and vulnerability. She is also Honorary Professor at the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute of Manchester University, UK. At the World Education Congress Global Awards for Excellence in Education, Leadership and Teaching on 23rd July 2015 held in Mumbai, Prof. Andharia received an award for her outstanding contribution to education.
She has been involved in national and state-level policy-making work and has had a long association with grassroots organisations. She was awarded the Association of Commonwealth Universities Scholarship to pursue her Ph.D from School of Environment Sciences, University of East Anglia U.K. in the area of Gender, Development and Environment.
She was responsible for laying the foundation of the School of Disaster Studies at TISS and was its Dean until 2022. Prior to that until 2006, she was Head, of the Department of Urban and Rural Community Development at TISS. She has provided leadership in the area of Disaster Management within TISS and in India, introducing a full-fledged Masters’ in the subject. The programme is located within the broad framework of social and environmental justice. Professor Andharia serves on several of the Working Groups and Committees of the National Disaster Management Authority of India and on Boards of several organizations. In 2014 she was invited to the Rockefeller Foundation’s Residency programme at the Bellagio Centre, Italy. In the same year, Professor Andharia was the recipient of the “Best Professor in Disaster Management award”, instituted by the National Education Leadership Awards, Lokmat, Mumbai. This was in recognition of the critical leadership she provided to the establishment of a multidisciplinary Centre for Disaster Management.
Over the years Professor Andharia has conducted research, trainings and consultancy assignments for governments, industry and NGOs and international agencies. She has travelled abroad to several countries to deliver special lectures, establish institutional linkages with Universities and also on research collaborations. She has been appointed as Honorary Professor at the University of manchester’s Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute until 2026. She has published extensively and is the series editor for Springer’s new book series on Disaster Studies and Management. She also serves on several editorial boards of several International journals.

Mr. Nandakumar joined the Tata Group in 2012 as Head – Treasury and Investor relations in Tata Power after which he assumed the role of Financial Controller and Chief – Subsidiaries Finance. In 2018, he moved to Titan Company Limited as Vice President – Corporate Finance and subsequently, in 2019, began overseeing the entire finance function including Corporate Finance, business finance and subsidiaries.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Bangalore University in 1991 and became a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India & Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India in 1994.
He has around 28 years post qualification experience in areas of Treasury & Investors relations, financial controllership, financial planning and analysis, business finance, Subsidiaries Management and M&A in diverse industry verticals (FMCG, Agri commodities, financial services, Textiles, Apparel, Infrastructure and Retail) in multi-cultural environments.
Before joining the Tata Group in 2012, Mr. Nandakumar started his career as a Management Trainee in 1994 with Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) Limited, after which he spent 12 years in ITC Limited in various roles, Reliance Securities as CFO (2007-2009) and thereafter in Raymond Limited as Director – Treasury, Retail and FMCG.

R. Mukundan, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Chemicals Limited, joined Tata Administrative Service in 1990, after completion of his MBA from FMS, Delhi University. He is a distinguished alumnus of IIT, Roorkee, a Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society and an alumnus of Harvard Business School. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in business administration by XIM University, Bhubaneshwar. With over 30 years’ experience at Tata Group, he has held various responsibilities across the Chemical, Automotive and Hospitality sectors of the Tata Group.
R. Mukundan serves on the boards of Rallis India Limited, Tata International Limited, Ncourage Social Enterprise Foundation (Section 8 Company), Homefield Pvt. UK. Ltd, TCE Group Limited, Gusuite Holdings (UK) Ltd, TC Africa Holdings Ltd., Tata Chemicals Magadi Limited, Tata Chemicals North America Limited, Tata Chemicals International Pte. Dr. Y.S.P. Thorat who retired as Chairman, NABARD in November 2007, is presently the Chief Executive Officer of the Rajiv Gandhi Trust and Member, Advisory Panel, Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. He is Chairman, Working Group on Institutional Finance, Risk Management and Cooperatives for the 12th Plan set up by the Planning Commission, Government of India. His other appointments include Member, Governing Board, NIBM; Member, Senate and Academic Council, Shivaji University, Kolhapur;Member, India Advisory Board, OCP;Member,Advisory Board, Indian Society of Agricultural Professionals; Director, TATA Chemicals Ltd,Menon Pistons Ltd.He is Strategic Advisor to MicroEnsure, an international NGO engaged in the provision of insurance services to the poor and the GTZ which is the development funding arm of the German Government in India.
He holds a degree in Political Science and Law and a doctorate in Economics. He has a Ph.D in progress from the University of Reading, UK. He was awarded the D.Lit in 2011 by the DY Patil University, Mumbai.
Dr.Thorat started his career in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in 1972 and was appointed Executive Director in 2003. The appointments held by him while in RBI included Principal, BTC; Regional Director, New Delhi, Maharashtra and Goa, etc. While in service he was on the Boards of the Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Infrastructure Development and Finance Co, Export Import Bank of India, Export Credit and Guarantee Corporation of India, National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange, Institute of Rural Development, Anand etc. In 2004, he was appointed by GOI as Managing Director, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and elevated a year later as Chairman. After retirement he lectured for a year in Philosophy at the Foundation for Liberal and Management Education, FLAME, Pune, where he was Dean, School of Liberal Education.
Dr.Thorat has a wide experience in administration, HR, rural finance, agricultural indebtedness, cooperatives, microfinance and risk mitigation having chaired a number of national level committees including Group of Experts on Sugar Policy, Committee to Formulate a Comprehensive Human Resource Policy for RRBs [GoI], Expert Group on Investment Credit [RBI], Expert Group on Credit Deposit Ratio of Banks [GoI] etc.
He has been associated as Member of various International Committees like Advisory Committee for Microcredit Summit Campaign, Halifax, Banking Specialist, UN-FAO Mission to Ethiopia, Rural Banking Specialist UNOPS Mission to Maldives, Member Secretary, High Power Team to study Rural Financial Institutions in Indonesia, High Level Team to study Credit Agricole etc.
As a Visiting Lecturer, he regularly lectures at various Universities including University of Reading, UK, University of Manchester and University of Geneva. He has published various monographs and research paper during his carrier on a variety of subjects finance, agriculture and credit.
